Feast of All Saints

We will observe the Feast of All Saints on Sunday, November 5. At the 10:30 a.m. service, we will remember those dear to us who have gone on. Blessing of the Animals

Wednesday, Oct. 4 is the feast day of St. Francis, patron saint of animals. On the nearest Sunday, October 1, Church of the Advent celebrates by inviting our animal friends to be blessed. This tradition has been going strong for many years and is a joyous occasion open to anyone who’d like to participate. Easter Egg Hunt on the grounds

The annual Easter Egg hunt will take place on Easter morning, April 21st right after the 10:30 service.  We are accepting donations of plastic eggs filled with candy or other goodies for fun.  Please feel free to bring filled plastic eggs to the church office before Saturday, April 20th.

The Great Vigil of Easter

A service including the Lighting of the Paschal Candle, the chanting of the Exsultet, Vigil readings from Hebrew scripture, a Renewal of Baptismal vows, the Great Alleluia, and a festival Celebration of the Holy Eucharist.

Proper Liturgy for Good Friday

A service of solemn observance and reverence as we descend into silence and reflection on the cross and the death of Jesus Christ.  The service concludes with the extinguishing of the sanctuary light.

Proper Liturgies for Maundy Thursday

A service of re-enactment and remembering with rites of Foot-Washing, Holy Communion, and Stripping of the Altar as we rehearse our Lord’s modeling servanthood, his last supper and teaching with his disciples, and his obedience to his imminent death on the cross.
