Rehearsing Resurrection
“So it was not you who sent me here, but God: . . .” Gen. 45:8a
Jesus is his own typological pointing. He dies a little that day near the mediterranean so that the dogs get to eat the crumbs. He’ll do more later.
“I ask not only on behalf of these, but also on behalf of those who will believe in me through their word, that they may all be one.” John 17:20
50 days of Easter may not be enough.
“And now I have told you this before it occurs, so that when it does occur, you may believe.” John 14:29
The love of God for us is both our ticket and our destination.
“Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another.” John 13:34
Christ’s resurrection frees us to love.
” . . . no one can snatch it out of the Father’s hand. The Father and I are one.” John 10:29b – 30
I hope your definition of God includes that God can do whatever God wants to do.
“When they had gone ashore, they saw a charcoal fire there, with fish on it, and bread.” John 21:9
Resurrection gives Jesus a solidity that is incarnation glorified.
“Have you believed because you have seen me?” John 20:29
When enough people walk this way it’s called an Easter parade.
“But these words seemed to them an idle tale, and they did not believe them.” Luke 24:11
How in the world can I live my life changed by this truth?
